A manual spiking system from SteelXperts ApS is a cost-effective solution that is easy to install in an existing production. A manual solution is ideal for small and medium-sized productions where there is already manual handling of the system.
A manual spiking system consists of a sender and receiver station.
A typical manual spiking system will work like this:
1: The product is pumped into the pipe string and out to the final destination (e.g. a bottling machine).
2: Product pump stops and prepare for pigging.
3: The pig is placed in the sender station.
4: The pig is sent off with fuel and the residual product can be used at the final destination.
5: When the pipe string is empty, the pig is removed from the receiving station and production can start again.

In automatic pigging systems, the pig always stays in the pipe system and is pushed as needed when it is automatically activated. In the manual pigging system, on the other hand, the pig is only activated when a button is actively pressed.
